Sharawi receives the governor of Daqahliyah
Major general Mahmoud Sharawi, minister of local development received Ayman Mukhtar, governor of Daqahliyah at the ministry's headquarters.
During the meeting, an update was made on the development of the integrated solid waste management system in the governorate, including the establishment of treatment and recycling of solid waste factories , a safe sanitary landfill and the elimination of daily accumulations. They also reviewed the tripartite protocol to be signed between the ministry, governorate and the Arab industrialization organization to implement a solid waste recycling factory with a daily capacity of 1200-ton in the Sandoub area with the latest technology and rehabilitating the current landfill.
The minister of local development pointed out that the government is working hard to develop sustainable solutions and plans to the problem of litter in all the governorates of the republic, including Daqahliyah, in cooperation with the relevant ministries, especially as the new solid waste system is being implemented.
The minister of local development has also followed up the ongoing efforts in the governorate to remove all wastes generated daily and to dispose of them safely in the sanitary landfill in Qalaboush area, and work to processing the treatment services to other recycling factories through a specialized company and to support the governorate with intermediate mobile stations.
The meeting also reviewed the follow-up of governorate efforts to combat the spread of the Corona virus as regards precautions taken at the state level to safeguard citizens' safety and achieve the highest level of safety for them. Foremost among them are the procedures for sterilizing and disinfecting state institutions , town and district council buildings and local units and also implementing The decisions of the prime minister strictly and decisively with regard to market monitoring in order to prevent monopolistic practices or price rises in staple foods and to close down all cafes, cafeterias and restaurants which should be limited to a home delivery service as well as new curfew decisions and limiting the public and private transport schedules.
Minister Sharawi also reviewed with the governor the efforts to evaluate the leadership of local administration in all centers, cities and local units in order to use the best available components in order to improve the services provided to citizens.
